The organization was founded by Yu Okuda, and she serves as its president.
Musical Writers Theatre Japan is a non-profit organization and provides support, community, and visibility for people involved in the creation of musical theatre in Japan.
Participation is open to musical theatre writers (bookwriters, composers, lyricists), musical directors, choreographers, directors, musicians, actors, and anyone else involved with musical theatre. And also we are giving the workshops, sharing of the creative process, and various other opportunities for participation to musical theatre fans.
The organization's activities include operating a platform for writers and creators to interact and share information, providing comprehensive support for the creation of musical theatre works by hosting seminars, workshops, and festivals, and publicizing live events and concerts.
The purpose of our organization is to contribute to the further promotion of culture and the arts by promoting the expansion of resources and equality of opportunity, and by conducting projects related to supporting the creation of sustainable original musical productions.
